This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive this medicine if you had an allergic reaction to potassium phosphate, or if you have severe kidney disease (including end-stage renal disease).

Muscle stiffness or spasms, heavy feeling in the legs

Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

This medicine contains aluminum which can cause harm especially to premature babies.

This medicine may cause the following problems:Heart problemsHeart rhythm problems, including QT prolongationSeizuresLow blood pressureIncreased risk of blood clots in the lungsKidney problems

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, heart disease, heart rhythm problem, diabetes, or adrenal gland problems.

Weakness, trouble breathing, numbness in your hands, feet, or lips

This medicine may cause potassium levels in the blood to be too high or calcium levels to be too low.

Some medicines can affect how potassium phosphate works. Tell your doctor if you are using any of the following:DigoxinBlood pressure medicine (including ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor antagonists)Diuretic or water pill (including potassium-sparing diuretic)Medicine that weakens the immune system (including cyclosporine, tacrolimus)

Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

This medicine contains aluminum. Large amounts of aluminum can be harmful, especially to premature babies and people who have kidney problems.

  • Lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  • Chest pain, trouble breathing
  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
  • Confusion, weakness, muscle cramps, seizures, numbness or tingling in your hands, feet, or lips
  • Fast, slow, pounding, or uneven heartbeat
  • Change in how much or how often you urinate
  • Diarrhea, stomach pain
  • Pain, itching, burning, swelling, or a lump under your skin where the needle is placed
