Novoseven Rt

Novoseven RT is used to treat and prevent bleeding associated with low levels of factor VII deficiency, hemophilia A, hemophilia B, glanzmann's thrombasthenia and surgeries. Novoseven RT contains a protein that works with other clotting factors in the blood to help the blood clot and stop bleeding. It is indicated for use by children and adults and is available as an injection.

Injection routeThrow away used needles in a hard, closed container that the needles cannot poke through. Keep this container away from children and pets.

Injection routeYou may be taught how to give your medicine at home. Make sure you understand all instructions before giving yourself an injection. Do not use more medicine or use it more often than your doctor tells you to.

Read and follow the patient instructions that come with this medicine. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.

A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine.

Injection routeYour doctor will prescribe your dose and schedule. This medicine is given through a needle placed in a vein.

This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive it if you had an allergic reaction to coagulation factor (recombinant), or to mouse, hamster, or bovine proteins.

Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have liver disease, any injury or untreated wounds, or a history of heart disease.

This medicine may increase your risk for blood clots. The risk is higher if you have a medical condition such as disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) or severe artery disease, or if you are taking certain blood clotting medicines. Talk to your doctor if you have any concerns about this risk.

Fever or chills

Numbness or weakness on one side of your body, sudden or severe headache, pain in your calf, problems with vision, speech, or walking

Redness, pain, or swelling where the IV is given

Unusually heavy bleeding, or any bruising or weakness

Red or brown urine, or black stools

The risk is higher if you have a medical condition such as disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) or severe artery disease, or if you are taking certain blood clotting medicines. Talk to your doctor if you have any concerns about this risk.

Some medicines can affect how this medicine works. Tell your doctor if you are using other coagulation factors.

• Numbness or weakness on one side of your body, sudden or severe headache, pain in your calf, problems with vision, speech, or walking
• Chest pain, trouble breathing, or coughing up blood
• Unusually heavy bleeding, or any bruising or weakness
• Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
• Fever or chills
• Redness, pain, or swelling where the IV is given
• Fast, slow, pounding, or uneven heartbeat
• Red or brown urine, or black stools
