Drug Info for motegrity
Prucalopride is used to treat chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC; difficult or infrequent passage of stools that lasts for 3 months or longer and is not caused by a disease or a medication). Prucalopride is in a class of medications called serotonin receptor agonists. It works by increasing the movement of waste through the bowel.

Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to use. Do not use more than directed.
Read and follow the patient instructions that come with this medicine. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.
Missed dose: Take a dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then and take a regular dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.
Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Keep the medicine in its original container.
This medicine is not right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to prucalopride, or if you have stomach or bowel perforation, blockage, or swelling (including obstructive ileus, Crohn€™s disease, ulcerative colitis, toxic megacolon or megarectum).
Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
This medicine may cause worsening of depression and thoughts or attempts of suicide. Make sure family members know about this. Always tell your doctor about any behavior changes, depression, intense feelings, or thoughts of hurting yourself or others.
Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, or a history of depression or mood problems.
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Changes in mood or behavior, agitation, anxiety, restlessness, thoughts or attempts of hurting yourself or others
- Headache
- Stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea
