Drug Info for frovatriptan succinate
Frovatriptan is used to treat the symptoms of migraine headaches (severe throbbing headaches that sometimes are accompanied by nausea and sensitivity to sound and light). Frovatriptan is in a class of medications called selective serotonin receptor agonists. It works by narrowing blood vessels around the brain, blocking pain signals from being sent to the brain, and stopping the release of certain natural substances that cause pain, nausea, and other symptoms of migraine. Frovatriptan does not prevent migraine attacks or reduce the number of headaches you have.
Frova is an antimigraine medication used to relieve symptoms of a migraine. Frovatriptan is the generic version of Frova. On average, Frova is quite expensive, at about $795 for a supply of 9, 2.5 mg tablets. However, you can use our free OptionRx coupon card to save significantly on Frova prices at a participating pharmacy near you.
