Cyclopentolate Hcl

Drug Info for cyclopentolate hcl

Cyclopentolate ophthalmic is used to cause mydriasis (pupil dilation) and cycloplegia (paralysis of the ciliary muscle of the eye) before an eye examination. Cyclopentolate is in a class of medications called mydriatics. Cyclopentolate works by blocking certain receptors found in the eye to temporarily relax or provide short-term paralysis of the eye muscles.

Cyclogyl comes in liquid form and is applied as a drop. It is used before an eye exam and works by relaxing the eye muscles thereby allowing your pupils to dilate. Cyclogyl is usually given about 40 to 50 minutes before an eye exam. Common side effects include blurred vision, mild eye irritation or puffy eyes.
