Drug Info for colace clear

Stool softeners are used on a short-term basis to relieve constipation by people who should avoid straining during bowel movements because of heart conditions, hemorrhoids, and other problems. They work by softening stools to make them easier to pass.

Colace comes in capsule form and is used to treat constipation. It allows water and fats to get into the stool which softens fecal matter and makes defecation more comfortable. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your doctor before use.
