Missed dose: Take a dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then and take a regular dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.

Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light.

Take your medicine as directed. Your dose may need to be changed several times to find what works best for you.

Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush, break, or chew it.

This medicine is not right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to bisoprolol, hydrochlorothiazide, or sulfa drugs, if you cannot pass urine, or if you have certain blood circulation or heart problems. Ask your doctor about these problems.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, heart or blood vessel disease, chest pain (angina), diabetes, gout, lung problems, lupus, an overactive thyroid, or a history of asthma. Tell your doctor if you are fasting (including surgery, not eating regularly, vomiting).

Tell any doctor or dentist who treats you that you are using this medicine, especially before you have any type of surgery.

This medicine may cause you to feel dizzy, drowsy, or lightheaded. Do not drive or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how this medicine affects you. Stand or sit up slowly if you are dizzy or lightheaded.

This medicine may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Wear sunscreen. Do not use sunlamps or tanning beds.

Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.

Check with your doctor right away if you experience dizziness, fainting, confusion, muscle pain, weakness, and/or a fast heartbeat. Use extra care if you exercise or if the weather is hot. Heavy sweating can cause dehydration (loss of too much water) or electrolyte imbalances (loss of sodium in the body).

Stop using this medicine and check with your doctor immediately if blurred vision, difficulty in reading, eye pain, or any other change in vision occurs during or after treatment. This could be a sign of a serious eye problem. Your doctor will want you to have your eyes checked by an ophthalmologist (eye doctor).

Yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes.

Some foods and medicines can affect how benazepril/hydrochlorothiazide works. Tell your doctor if you are using any of the following:Cholestyramine, clonidine, colestipol, digoxin, diltiazem, disopyramide, lithium, rifampin, verapamilInsulin or oral diabetes medicineNSAIDs (including aspirin, celecoxib, diclofenac, ibuprofen, naproxen)Other blood pressure medicinesSteroid medicine

Ask your doctor before you use any medicine, supplement, or salt substitute that contains potassium.

Alcohol, narcotic pain medicine, or sleeping pills may cause you to feel more lightheaded, dizzy, or faint when used with this medicine.

Do not drink alcohol while you are using this medicine.

Do not stop using this medicine suddenly. Your doctor will need to slowly decrease your dose before you stop it completely.

Make sure any doctor or dentist who treats you knows that you are using this medicine. Your doctor will tell you if you are going to stop taking this medicine several days before having surgery or medical tests.

This medicine may cause changes in your blood sugar levels. Also, this medicine may cover up signs of low blood sugar, such as a rapid pulse rate. Check with your doctor if you have these problems or if you notice a change in the results of your blood or urine sugar tests.

Check with your doctor right away if you become sick while taking this medicine, especially with severe or continuing nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. These conditions may cause you to lose too much water or salt.

• Sores, reddish patch or irritated area, shiny bump, pink growth, or white, yellow or waxy scar-like area on the skin
• Yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes.
• Unusual bleeding or bruising.
• Change in how much or how often you urinate
• Fast, slow, pounding, or uneven heartbeat
• Unusual tiredness or weakness.
• Lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
• Swelling in your hands, feet, ankles, or legs, tiredness
• Confusion, weakness, and muscle twitching
• Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
• Blistering, peeling, or red skin rash
• Blurred vision or changes in vision
• Wheezing or trouble breathing.
• Dry mouth, increased thirst, or muscle cramps
• Shaking, trembling, sweating, hunger
• Swelling in you feet, ankles, or legs.
• Constipation, diarrhea, loss of appetite, or stomach upset
• Joint or muscle pain
• Mild skin rash.
