Missed dose: This medicine needs to be given on a fixed schedule. If you miss a dose, call your doctor, home health caregiver, or treatment clinic for instructions.

This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive it if you had an allergic reaction to penicillin.

Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

This medicine can cause diarrhea. Call your doctor if the diarrhea becomes severe, does not stop, or is bloody. Do not take any medicine to stop diarrhea until you have talked to your doctor. Diarrhea can occur 2 months or more after you stop taking this medicine. It may occur 2 months or more after you stop using this medicine.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease or a history of asthma or allergies, including a previous allergic reaction to a cephalosporin antibiotic.

This medicine may cause serious skin reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), or acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP).

Some medicines can affect how penicillin G benzathine works. Tell your doctor if you are using probenecid or other medicine to treat an infection (including tetracycline).

This medicine can cause diarrhea. Call your doctor if the diarrhea becomes severe, does not stop, or is bloody. Do not take any medicine to stop diarrhea until you have talked to your doctor. Diarrhea can occur 2 months or more after you stop taking this medicine.

• Pain, itching, burning, swelling, or a lump under your skin where the shot was given
