Dolasetron is used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy. Dolasetron is in a class of medications called serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the action of serotonin, a natural substance that may cause nausea and vomiting.

Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to use. Do not use more than directed.

Talk to your child's doctor if your child cannot swallow the tablets.

Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light.

This medicine is not right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to dolasetron.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, heart failure, heart disease, heart rhythm problems (such as congenital long QT syndrome), or a slow heartbeat.
