Tretinoin

Drug Info for tretinoin

Tretinoin (Altreno, Atralin, Avita, Retin-A) is used to treat acne. Tretinoin is also used to reduce fine wrinkles (Refissa and Renova) and to improve spotty discoloration (Renova) and rough feeling skin (Renova) when used along with other skin care and sunlight avoidance programs. Tretinoin is in a class of medications called retinoids. It works by promoting peeling of affected skin areas and unclogging pores.

Tretinoin Emollient is a retinoid that is used to treat acne vulgaris. It may also be used to improve the appearance of rough skin, fine wrinkles and abnormal skin pigmentation due to damage from the sun. It works by affecting skin cell growth. For better results, Tretinoin Emollient should be used with a skin moisturizer and sunscreen. It is indicated for use by children age 12 and older and adults. This medication is available as a cream.
