Timolol Maleate

Drug Info for timolol maleate

Ophthalmic timolol is used to treat glaucoma, a condition in which increased pressure in the eye can lead to gradual loss of vision. Timolol is in a class of medications called beta-blockers. It works by decreasing the pressure in the eye.

Timoptic is a beta blocker drug that is used to treat open-angle glaucoma. It is also used to treat intraocular hypertension or high pressure in the eyes. Timoptic lowers the high pressure in the eyes by decreasing the amount of fluid in the eyes. It is indicated for use by adults as an eye drop.
