Lanadelumab-flyo injection is used to prevent swelling and painful attacks of hereditary angioedema (HAE; an inherited condition that causes episodes of swelling in the hands, feet, face, airway, or intestines) in adults and children 2 years of age or older. Lanadelumab-flyo is in a class of medications called monoclonal antibodies. It works by blocking the action of a certain natural substance in the body that causes swelling and pain associated with HAE.

Read and follow the patient instructions that come with this medicine. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.

Injection routeYour doctor will prescribe your exact dose and tell you how often it should be given. This medicine is given as a shot under your skin.

Injection routeYou will be shown the body areas where this shot can be given. Use a different body area each time you give yourself a shot. Keep track of where you give each shot to make sure you rotate body areas. Do not inject into skin areas that are swollen, painful, bruised, or less than 2 inches away from scars or your belly button.

Use this medicine within 2 hours after preparing it at room temperature. You may also refrigerate the prepared dosing syringe and use it within 8 hours. Allow it to warm to room temperature first for 15 minutes before you use it.

Injection routeUse a new needle and syringe each time you inject your medicine.

Missed dose: You must use this medicine on a fixed schedule. Call your doctor or pharmacist if you miss a dose.

Injection routeThrow away used needles in a hard, closed container that the needles cannot poke through. Keep this container away from children and pets.

Injection routeYou may be taught how to give your medicine at home. Make sure you understand all instructions before giving yourself an injection. Do not use more medicine or use it more often than your doctor tells you to.

Check the liquid in the vial. It should be colorless or slightly yellow. Do not use this medicine if it is cloudy, discolored, or if it has particles in it. Do not shake.

Store unopened vials in the original carton in the refrigerator. Do not freeze.

This medicine is not right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to lanadelumab-flyo.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.

Tell any doctor or dentist who treats you that you are using this medicine. This medicine may affect certain medical test results.

Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.

  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
  • Pain, redness, or burning under your skin where the needle is placed
  • Headache, dizziness
  • Muscle or joint pain
