A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine.

You should not receive this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to neomycin, polymyxin B, or certain antibiotics (such as amikacin, gentamicin, kanamycin, netilmicin, streptomycin, tobramycin, Garamycin®, Netromycin®, Tobrex®). You should not receive this medicine if you are pregnant.

Make sure your doctor knows if you are breast feeding, or if you have kidney disease.

Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

  • Ringing in your ears.
  • Pain in your side or lower back.
  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
  • Burning or stinging of your skin around the catheter.
