Lumizyme is a prescription-only medication that is prescribed to patients who have deficient enzymes within their body. This drug can also be used to treat patients diagnosed with Pompe disease. Lumizyme works by replacing the missing enzymes to help patients with breaking down carbohydrates within their digestive system. Lumizyme is taken by both adults and children who are at least eight years old.
